Job Title: Financial Controller – 25 to 30 hours PW

Reporting to: The Founder/CEO and COO





Annual Salary Range: £75,000 - £85,000 FTE. Equity options possible.


About us:

In its 6th year, FRBC has just successfully commissioned its brand new beer production facility in South London.  After the wake of navigating covid, Forest Road is on track for another triple digit growth year.  In addition to brewing awesome beer, FR continues to grow its hospitality arm with a 3rd site coming online this September.


The Forest Road Group requires the expertise and commitment of a highly qualified candidate who will be responsible for the financial reporting and governance of the group, providing advice to enable decision making and supporting explosive growth.


The successful candidate will join a small team of energetic, dedicated, quality focused

Purpose of the Role:

Responsible for the efforts, results, and success of Forest Road Brewery’s finance team.

Provide financial analysis and advice to help the senior team make key decisions and support rapid growth.

Note that this is a hands-on position within a rapidly growing company with huge potential.


The Ideal Candidate

  • Accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in business, finance, or economics
  • Proficient in accounting software (Xero, Quickbooks, Sage or equivalent), advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel, Google Sheets) along with general aptitude for systems and integrations.
  • Strong leadership skills essential but must also be able to get their hands dirty; be agile with problem solving and streamlining inefficiencies
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Able to manage both upwards and downwards including communicating to shareholders or potential investors.
  • Experience with FMCG / manufacturing industries or a strong understanding of the beer market is a plus


Key Responsibilities



  • Design, implement, and maintain robust financial procedures to support operations and back office systems
  • Ensure that all of the company's financial practices are in line in statutory regulations and legislation
  • Foster and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, including banking institutions, HMRC and accountants
  • Manage bookkeeper, accounts assistant and relationships with other agencies  to provide a high standard of finance operations. This will include accurate & timely reporting, managing systems, supplier relationships, overseeing credit control, payroll, statutory deadlines etc.



  • Prepare budgets and forecasts for the business and track actual to plan
  • Monitor cash flow and interpret financial information to provide updates and action as needed
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, along with weekly dashboards, cashflow projections and ad hoc reporting as required
  • Regular reviews with Departmental heads to review cost base and highlight areas of improvement or risk.
  • Analyze the financial climate and industry or economic trends to assist with strategic planning
  • Oversee and direct capital projects and investments
